1) Igott Bred, who shoves chips on the lay‑out like he feels the next roll is a sure pop winner and he wants a bundle riding.
2) Kennie Bett, who swings into action 41/2 seconds after he enters a Casino and grabs the first seat he sees ‑even if he tramples three little old ladies in an effort to avoid missing a single hand.
I can't figure their logic. They take no time at all in trying to chart a table to see which way a Trend is going and think that their main purpose in the Casino is to bet every hand.
The main purpose in a Casino is to WIN, and a lot of hard work goes into a battle plan that gives you about a 50‑50 chance of winning.
One of those things ‑ and a very important facet ‑ is Minimizing Losses. That means you should bet as small as the table allows, until you reach a hot Trend. Then you can shovel it in ‑ when that hot Trend shows.
But if you're broke when that hot roll appears and don't got the bread to bet, you spend the next 3 hours cursing at your bad fortune and rotten luck. It's neither of these. You're just a plain old jerk for betting too much, too soon. lgott Bred bets too much and Kenni Bett bets too soon. They're both dorks.
I want you to get into the habit of keeping your losses down so that you'll be able to take advantage of a good run.
Naturally Igott Bred will argue that he bets high because he wants to make sure that if he does win, the payoffs will be high and not a paltry $5 winning hand,
To hear this boob talk you'd think he was a big spender. This big shot gives his wife $45 a week for groceries and expects her to feed him and the three kids steak and lobster every night on that paltry sum.
But in the Casino he acts like money is no object. He's a phony and you can find the type at every Casino ‑every day of the week.
One or two cold runs and this guy is wiped out. The advice I'm giving won't reach the Igott Breds of the world. They think gambling is strictly a high stakes, "take your best shot" craps shoot. It ain't!
Kennie Bett is just as bad. He won't go looking for a game that is showing a strong streak in a particular direction. No. He just wants to get into action and hopes that he's lucky enough to be betting the way the wheel is showing.
This is a good place to start your disciplined approach to gambling. Zero in on this message ‑ Minimizing losses will protect your Bankroll and allow you to preserve your money until you can reach a level where a cold run won't hurt you.
eliminate the chance of a bad beginning making your whole day a wipe‑out.
When you get to the Money Management section, you'll get "tables of bets" that will guide your play. These pre‑determined sets of "Series" will be geared to your own personal Bankroll, however low it may be.
I hope you don't fall into the category of one of the people mentioned in the above chapter. If you did, change over right now!
