Table Minimums
By John Patrick
I'm in the casinos approximately four days a week. My intent is to play at the lowest minimum table that is available. In Atlantic City that is usually a $5 table and on some rare occasions $3.

In Vegas, Reno or Tahoe you can regularly find $1 and $2 tables. Good   that's where you should play. This way, you can bet as low as possible while you're losing and still go up as you start to win.

Dubble U. Bett is a daily visitor to the Atlantic City tables. He brings $400 with him, goes to the $100 table, bets two or three hands, loses and spends the rest of the day walking around the casino making a pest of him.

Dubble U. Bett spots me at a five dollar table and does a double take. "I can't believe you're playing at a $5 table. I thought you were a sharp player!"

I try to explain to him that you can be a sharp player and still bet small amounts   waiting for a streak to unfold. But he wants to hear none of this. He feels that if you don't wager the family jewels on every hand, you're going to be sneered at. The only people I see walking around a casino sneering are the ones who are broke.

I don't give a donkey's dumper how important you "think" it is to play at the highest minimum tables on the floor. My opinion is that it's smarter to play at tables that offer you the smallest possible bet   until your streak develops.

In Roulette, start out with 50$ chips   if your starting bankroll is $300 or less. If you bring more than $300, you can play with dollar chips. Following is a guide chart that you can use:

STARTING BANK ROOL
  CHIP VALUE
NUMBER
OF SESSIONS
$100
$.50
5
$200
$.50
5 or 8
$300
$.50
6 or 10
$400
$1.00
4 or 5
$500
$1.00
5 or 10
$600
$1.00
6 or 8

Notice that the smaller the Bankroll, the less value chips you should use. And the amount of the Bankroll will always determine how many Sessions to play.

Since each Session has its own built in Loss Limit and Win Goal, you are free to play as little or as many Sessions as you choose. Note: The previous sentence is one that should be memorized and never forgotten it’s a biggie.

Suppose you take $600 to the casino. You can: a. Break it into 3 Sessions of $200 each b. Break it into 4 Sessions of $150 each c. Break it into 5 Sessions of $120 each d. Break it into 6 Sessions of $100 each e. Break it into 8 Sessions of $75 each f. Break it into 10

Sessions of $60 each g. Break it into 20 Sessions of $30 each h. Break it into 30 Sessions of $20 each I hope you get the point. It’s the beginning of your day and it's important that you predetermine these Session amounts, and if you see Dubble U. Bett heading, .our way with his sarcastic words of garbage   try to smile and pity him. I'd like to crown him King of Casino Dopes, but there are over 2 million people laying claim to the title.
