Gambling Review Board Offers Hyperlinks to New Internet Casinos
enabling affiliates, consumers, and even competitors the chance to exchange Internet hyperlinks. The review site, WagerTrust.com, developed the program to provide Internet gamers with a complete online gambling resource to aid in their online gambling decisions.
"The rationale behind the WagerTrust link exchange program is twofold: to provide our members and end-users with the most comprehensive and objective online gambling resource, and to help promote the WagerTrust brand," said Tom White, vice president of marketing for WagerTrust.com.
As the global online gambling industry continues to grow, it has become increasingly difficult for the ordinary Internet gambler to decide which programs, software, or vendors are trustworthy, said White.
The WagerTrust Link Exchange Program was established to serve online gamblers with current and useful online gambling resources to help aid in the difficult online gambling decisions.
Similar to eCOGRA
In that regard, it is quite similar to eCOGRA, eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance, the London-based standards body. That group this week announced that a new team is set to monitor the 91 online casinos and 21 poker rooms accredited under the 'Play It Safe' label.
Now in its fourth year of operations, the organization has appointed a dedicated team of fully qualified professionals to perform the on-site assessments necessary for online gambling operators to be awarded the 'Play It Safe' seal, and to give players the comfort they are playing on fully compliant sites.
eCOGRA chief executive Andrew Beveridge said that "although auditors have provided us with an outstanding service in the past, we now have the necessary skills, reputation and player recognition to undertake this work ourselves, giving it our closer and more immediate attention."
Beveridge said this is in accord with the way other independent standards organizations and regulators operate. "These dedicated resources will allow us greater flexibility to meet the continually varying demands of our industry and to respond to the players' demands for a safe and rewarding online gambling experience," said Beveridge.
The team, which includes four individuals with "Big Four" audit firm and online gambling experience, will take over the role previously outsourced to third party auditing firms. But, eCOGRA's independent directors will continue to be solely responsible for the approval of accreditation and compliance issues, and the effective functioning of the assessment process, said Beveridge.
