All this is good news for the online gambling industry, experts indicated. Some had feared the industry might struggle in the wake of the UIGEA. But, the launch of two new gambling and poker sites, along with the "booming figures" from online poker rooms is emphatic evidence that online gambling is here to stay, with or without the U.S., experts said. Possibly picking up the opportunities forsworn by the U.S., the Canadian province of Alberta last week announced that it is considering making online gambling legal there. The proposal is drawing fire from right-wing zealots, but the politicians there are commissioning a poll to show that the public supports the measure to legalize online gambling.
