I don't know why people think that gambling and gigantic winning amounts go hand in hand. That's a misconception  and a good reason why people lose.
The professional gambler views gambling as a way of life a challenging way to grind out a living. The novice views it as a stepping stone to instant riches. One of these characters has a stupid approach to reality. I wonder which one!

Gambling is a rough, tedious, hard, time consuming, frustrating undertaking. It is not for the weak of heart, at least it shouldn't be.

Gambling fever! These people figure it's worth the few dollars to "take a shot" on hitting it big.
