Resorts Introduces Unique Nightclub Experience
Opening July 28, Showtime Tabou combines DJ dancing with 20 minutes of live performances each hour highlighting local talent - who also serve the guests food and drinks. This Canadian import already has two locations in Quebec and its operators are looking forward to bringing this highly original concept show to the Shore.
“With Showtime Tabou, our guests will see great performances reminiscent of the Cirque Du Soliel experience, but then the performers will serve their cocktails and food,” said Christine Venditto, Vice President of Showtime Tabou in an interview with www.onlinecasinocrawler.com.
Veniditto explained that at a typical show, people never have a chance to interact with the performers since the actors vanish backstage never to reappear after the curtain goes down. With Showtime Tabou, between the live performance elements the actors are working to serve the guests, which gives both groups a chance to interact and fosters a more intimate experience.
According to Stephan Genest, founder of Showtime Tabou, the experience isn’t just designed to appeal to the Atlantic City casino visitor, its also a forum for up and coming artists to hone their craft in an atmosphere that caters to the transient lifestyle of the artist. Additionally, it is hard for artists and performers to find steady work, especially where they can also perform.
At Showtime Tabou there are no strict rules that employees must work every weekend, instead if the performer happens to land out of town engagements they are encouraged to perform elsewhere with the assurance their job will be secure when they return.

Additionally, the artists are given the necessary tools to excel with their individual talents. “Showtime Tabou is a high quality show with artists who have an opportunity to have lucrative employment and participate in the success of the company. The employee-artist will obtain stage experience, visibility and artistic coaching. For our employee-artists, Showtime Tabou is an educational and training experience. For our guests, it’s a chance to interact with artists. It’s more than a bistro, more than a nightclub and more than a theater – it’s nightlife redefined.”
While most of the artists are locals, there are some from New York and Philadelphia who have joined the troop because of the communal atmosphere.
Once the bistro opens next month, Resorts’ Showtime Tabou will open Thursday through Sundays at 5 p.m. serving creative French-Canadian fare in an bistro like setting combing American favorites with the flavors of up north. Chef Sylvain Deblois is currently finalizing the menu which should be announced soon. After 10 p.m. the nightclub comes to life until the wee hours of the next morning.
