Though many of the Academy Award categories are considered "to be in tight competition," one in particular stands out above the rest: "Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role." The Best Actress Oscar is the single most competitive category, pitting critically acclaimed and world-renowned actresses Helen Mirren, Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Judi Dench against two-time winner Meryl Streep. Mirren heads into the Oscars as the odds-on favorite after winning the Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, according to Bodog.com.
On the opposite side of the critics' choices is the 2006 Razzie for "Worst Director", which pits such legends of directing, like Uwe Boll, M.
