1. Bet $20 and pull back $10, or
2. Bet $25 and pull back $5, or
3. Bet the same $15 and pull back $15, or
4. Bet $10 and pull back $20, or
5. Bet $5 and pull back $25.
The last two options are super conservative, but are not bad for new players. Learn to win!!!
There you have five variations of betting and you have just reached a level of three units. As the series continues, you will encounter more choices with each winning hand. You must be prepared to deal with each one without hesitating.
I suggest the basic play for the New York system to be: 2 1 2 3 3 4 5
At a $5 table, that translates into the following bets: $10, $5, $10, $15, $15, $20, $25.
When you reach the $25 level, you have many options. But, I want you to consider only four:
1. Same bet ($25), and pull $25, or
2. Reduce the bet to $20 and pull $30, or
3. Bet $15 and pull $35, or
3. Go back to $10 and pull $40.
A series begins with a win and ends with a loss. A push keeps the series going. The size of your first bet depends on how much session money you have. But, the first bet must always be higher than the minimum, so that the second bet can be regressive.
Memorize the New York numbers: 2 1 2 3 3 4 5.
